Oak Barn is the larger of the two barns at Westfield. A lounge-diner with a big window over the courtyard, a kitchen with room to cook properly, and a rear patio where the fields take over — sheep, canal boats in the distance, and not much else.
Overview
Oak Barn is a renovated stone barn quietly set at the edge of Braunston, within twenty-seven acres of fields that border the Oxford Canal. It sleeps four across two ensuite bedrooms — a kingsize master and a twin room with walk-in wardrobe — with a lounge-diner seating six, a fully fitted kitchen and a downstairs toilet. There's a private rear patio with garden furniture and field views, EV charging on site, fast Wi-Fi throughout, self check-in by lockbox, and a welcome pack waiting on the kitchen counter the day you arrive. The village pubs and tea room are five minutes' walk; Warwick, Althorp and Silverstone are all within forty minutes.

We had a great weekend as a group of friends. Oak Barn was a great spot, beautiful walks and walkable to pubs and a little shop. Amanda the host was lovely, communication was great throughout and extremely welcoming on arrival and accommodated our request for a slight later checkout. We'd happily recommend for a relaxing, quiet weekend away.

Our stay at Amanda and Matt’s converted barn was nothing short of perfect. The country views including a field of sheep were relaxing. The home is spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfy and with the darkness and quiet, we all slept well. Being late September there was a chill in the air, but not inside. Plenty of radiators ensured it was warm. Amanda and Matt are lovely hosts, friendly and efficient. We will definitely stay here again when we’re next over from the USA.

Lovely property, very nicely decorated and with plenty of amenities, having 3 bathrooms was great. The surrounding area is also really nice with a nice pub/restaurant a few minutes walk away and a canal nearby that you can walk along to the marina.

Really enjoyed our long weekend here. Situation is very quiet with views over the fields to the canal. The house was spacious, immaculately presented and extremely comfortable. We particularly appreciated the Christmas decorations. There was a generous welcome pack and Amanda was lovely. Braunston is a very picturesque village with an excellent local pub and good supermarket within walking distance from the Airbnb. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious and clean and was ideal for a break for 2 couples over a long weekend. The amenities and canal in Braunston were all no more than 10 mins walk away, and were all accessible by pavement, useful as we had a baby buggy. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful setting in the centre barn. Overlooks sheep fields leading to the canal. Private setting on the grounds of the main house, super comfy and within 10 mins of main village restaurants and shops. Stayed for work, definitely staying again! Book ahead early!! The Barn is lovely Well kitted out , a good location, warm and cosy with really comfortable beds! Amanda and Matt were on hand to try to sort out any problems - we were only able to use the cooker on one setting but then it worked when Matt came and stopped again when he left-typical - and were really easy to communicate with . The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the very poor wifi which kept disconnecting and was not strong enough to set up a baby monitor or send messages. My daughter had intended coming early and working from there and this would have been impossible. The owners do know about this and I'm not sure how difficult it will be for them to sort out given the area, or even if we were just unlucky, so it depends on your reason for the visit and how important WiFi is for you. I'm afraid it would stop us returning. It is a lovely barn in a great area

We were made to feel welcome and assisted with all requests. Matt and his wife Amanda were always helpful without 'being in your face'. The cottage is on the edge of a village in a lovely quiet country area with a canal and walks right from the house.

we had a couple of issues with wifi and doorkey but both issues we're swiftly dealt with by Amanda and Matt. house was lovely and warm with comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. We found the location fabulous. The village was great, as were all the other villages, friendly people and wonderful canal experiences. walks ,architecture, pubs. the ridge and furrows everywhere are stunning and so much history in the region. The Oak Barn is a very comfortable and well equipped house. The main street of Braunston is within easy walking distance as are pubs and an excellent restaurant by the canal. The village is very attractive, peaceful and affords a number of walks along the canal. The location is close to the M1 and M6 giving great access to cities, towns and other tourist locations. I highly recommend this house. It is our third booking and we have already reserved for next summer.

We had a very comfortable stay in Oak Barn in a lovely rural setting which was exactly as advertised, quite spacious and was well equipped with everything we need for our 2 weeks stay. Matt and Amanda were great hosts and promptly attended to all our needs. We enjoyed the welcome pack of goodies on our arrival and the interesting and easy country walks along the nearby local canals. I just wish we had known that the leisure craft on the canals were available for hire as that looked like quite a fun activity that can be enjoyed by all. The local pubs located near the canals and locks offer delicious meals and those self-catering can obtain the essentials from the local village store and butcher in Braunston or do a larger shop in the nearby towns of Daventry and Rugby.

Oak Barn proved to be a wonderful, peaceful location for our stay in the area. Everything came as advertised. The property is beautifully appointed and equipped and it is clear that Matt and Amanda have put a lot of thought (and no doubt money) into preparing the accommodation for renters. Nothing is missing and the inclusion of the comprehensive 'welcome package' of bread, butter, jam, milk, tea, coffee, crisps, chocolate wafers etc was a lovely and considerate touch. The Barn is surrounded by fields with sheep and lambs and there are views across the field to the Oxford Canal from the rear patio area. It is also well sound proofed because we couldn't hear the animals inside. Amanda was so kind and never complained about delivering to us the several tiny packages of items which our daughter decided to order and have delivered to us while we were in the country! All in all, we would stay at Oak Barn again in a heartbeat!

This is a great place to stay. Very relaxing and a lovely location. It's in the centre of the canal network and we had a really good dinner in the Admiral Nelson pub. The hosts think of everything and provide a comprehensive welcome pack including bread, butter, milk etc. The facilities are really good and the beds very comfortable.

A wonderful Barn. Fabulously finished with a homely luxurious feel. Added extras for example make up wipes and hot chocolate drink. A full kitchen with all the utensils needed. A welcome pack of milk, bread, butter and even a chocolate cake, thank you! The location is fabulous overlooking sheep, in the countryside yet on the edge of pretty Braunston with walks galore, 3 pubs a butchers, tea shop and fully stocked shop. Amanda and Matt were perfect hosts and offered us a BBQ for set up in the private patio area. A shame as the weather was not kind but next time we will. Very comfortable beds, immaculately clean bathrooms and kitchen and full central heating. Before we had even checked out we have re booked for our next trip. We had the most wonderful stay in the cottage. It was so welcoming and homely with so many extra little touches. We were warmly welcomed by our host and found tea, coffee, biscuits, cake, milk, bread, butter etc in the kitchen. The whole cottage was absolutely sparkling clean, the towels were pure snow white and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Can't recommend the cottage enough.

Oak Barn was the perfect place to stay for our first Christmas away from home. So many special touches and perfect welcome basket. The grounds and views were amazing.
